On May 4th and 5th we went up to Pennsylvania to visit Longwood Gardens during their tulip festival.
It was the end of the season so many of the tulips were already past their prime, but there were still many in bloom.
We liked the way the tulips were planted by color families, like the lavender and purple ones above, and these shades of yellow.
These pink ones don't look like tulips, but they are.
Some of the trees were also in bloom, adding to the loveliness of the gardens.
Here's a better look at the pretty pink and lavender flowers around that fountain.
Behind us is the Italian water garden.
This is inside the green house in Longwood. I thought this path was nice with the lavender flowers lining it.
It was more obvious in this section of the garden that many of the tulips were done blooming, but it was still very colorful.
You can see that it was a lovely spring day.
We'll try to get up to see the tulips festival in April, earlier in the season next year. It wasn't as amazing as the Kuekenhof tulip gardens in Holland, but we liked it.
That evening we went to the Philadelphia Temple.
It loved the way it looked all lit up with lights.
We enjoyed our overnight trip to Philadelphia!
