Views from the Airplane in Oregon and DC 4th of July Fireworks

It's pretty spectacular to fly in and out of the Portland airport when the skies are clear, since you can see three mountain peaks out your window.
I don't know the names of these three peaks, though I'm sure one is Mount Hood.

The plane flew nice and close to this one.
Several conditions have to be just right to get such great views, including which side of the airplane a person is sitting on, so it was a nice treat as we were flying back to DC after our visit to Oregon.
We purposely flew back to DC on the evening of the 4th of July so that we could see the fireworks. We've lived in northern Virginia for nine years and I've never been in DC on Independence Day!
There was a hill top on Arlington Cemetery that was set aside for employees to park their cars and watch the fireworks over the National Mall.
It was a pretty good view!
Best of all, we were able to get out of the city before most of the traffic, so we were back in Stafford just 45 minutes after the fireworks ended. We had two great shows from and in the sky on opposite sides of our beautiful country on July 4th!
