What we Did on Our Summer Vacation Part 2: Colorado Family Reunion

The Kent and Elaine Carson family reunion was held on July 1st through the 6th at Tyler and Rachel's house in Fountain, Colorado.
Here are the brunette mothers with the youngest three grandchildren.
Baby Sylvia got lots of attention from her older girl cousins.

There was lots of hugging amongst the cousins and siblings.
Here's Gracie hugging her big sister, Sophia.
Andrew hugging his cousin Gracie--
and then his cousin Makayla. Kent's mom is in the background. She joined our reunion for a couple of days.
Tyler has always been a favorite with the nieces and nephews.
Here's a family tradition--Uncle Garrett holding the nieces in the "Major Cutie" onesie. Here's Grace:
and here's baby Sylvia. It'd be fun to do a post of pictures of Garrett with all the granddaughters in the "Major Cutie" onesie.
The swing on Tyler and Rachel's front porch was a popular spot.

Daniel and Sophia sharing a swing.
Here's Garrett with his mini-me, Adam.
One of the things we did the first day was to pose for some family pictures. This is a sweet picture of Kent and Savannah.
Here we are gathering before the photo shoot.
It was a big job getting 19 people (nine of whom were under the age of seven) to cooperate and be happy about getting a picture taken!
Here's a shot of Kent and I with all the grandkids.  At the top of our blog is a picture with great Grandma Carson and all of us in it.
The next day we explored the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, which weren't too far away from where Tyler and Rachel live.
We had a wheel chair for great Grandma, but the kids liked to take it for a spin, too.
This picture was taken inside a tipi.
There were lots of cool places to crawl into and to explore.

It seems that Savannah jumped into the Lee family picture instead of Sophia.
We went onto Fort Carson to see the helicopters where Tyler works before we went to the Independence Day fireworks show. There was a lovely rainbow as we drove on base.
Andrew LOVES to pretend he's driving.
Jason and Savannah looking out the window.
Some family shots in front of the helicopters.

Here we are waiting for the fireworks to begin.

Three little sweethearts at their hotel.....
and two more. Makayla hanging out near baby Sylvia again.
We went for a walk at a park with a cool playground.

 Granddad holding sweet little Sylvia.
We set up a slip-n-slide and a sprinkler for the kids to play on in the backyard.

Then we ate some watermelon.  Grace

Here are Garrett and Krystal's kids ready for church.
Daniel looks like he's ready to join the secret service.
On Sunday evening we had s'mores around the fire pit in the back yard. Lissa and Jason's family didn't join us, so I'm not purposely excluding them from the pictures.

On Monday we had a fun morning swimming in the pool at the hotel where the Stinsons and Lees were staying.

Later that day I helped the older kids do a little craft project.
That evening we had a birthday party for all the members of the family with summer birthdays.

I made Andrew's name wall quilt, plus a matching pillowcase for him.
I made watermelon wall quilts for all the daughters and daughters-in-law.

Savannah has been anxiously awaiting her church bag, which I made with her favorite color, light pink.
Kiera's gifts had a musical theme. I love the way Andrew is peeking out from behind the gift bag.
Kiera and I played some duets on the piano.
Then the other granddaughters wanted to get in on the act.
And for the reunion's grand finale, we went out and shot fireworks in the front yard, even though it was the sixth of July.

Gotta love a one-year-old grandson who loves to snuggle his grandma!
It was a fun-filled and action-packed six days! I know there were lots of pictures in this post, but I tried to represent all of our family members. I didn't want to leave anyone out!

We really, really appreciate Tyler and Rachel for opening their home for the reunion and for planning most of the fun activities. I think everyone had a wonderful time and wished we could be together longer.
